On the Spot: Eduardo García Fernández

by Chiara Costantino

Eduardo García Fernández ( aka Edu G.F.), born and raised in Gijón, Asturias (Spain) is a 24 years old Civil Engineering student and lives in Madrid.  Before he discovered photography, he was into music and graffiti. He started shooting when he found an old Yashica MG1 his father used and he is a self taught photographer, who likes to learn from his Flickr contacts.  For Edu G.F., photography means freedom and the possibility to get away from the strict rules of mathematics, physics and other subjects he studies. He loves fashion photography but he does not want to be into the trend of artificial-looking pictures and over-post process, because he is persuaded that imperfection is what makes us human and there lies beauty. Right now, Edu G.F. is preparing his first book about young people’s attitude and he is teaming up with some fashion magazines. He is also working on a documentary project about guys who ride bikes and another one about magic places.
